www.philly.comTropicana Hotel and Casino in Atlantic City and several contruction companies agreed to pay the the families of four workers who were killed a total of $101 Million Dollars. The money will also be shared by those who were injured when the parking garage collapsed during contruction. The project was being rushed to compete with another casino also under contruction. Needless workplace injuries and deaths can be avoided if employers paid more attention to job safety.

There is just no excuse, in 2007, for anyone to be injured on the job. Hopefully, this case will set a national example of what not to do on a construction job. The Occupational Heath and Safety Administration (OSHA) has jurisdiction of these matters and they also need to do more to insure worker’s safety.
