Many of you may remember the problem with Ford Crown Victoria Police Cruisers. They still have gas tanks behind the rear axles, despite Ford’s knowledge that placing the tank there puts the driver at serious risk. Many deaths occur when someone pulls over to the side of the road and is struck in the rear. The latest case is from Lee County, Florida, where the passenger was killed when the driver plowed into a work truck parked along the side of Interstate 75.
The driver suffered major injuries. With all the highway construction work being done on the Interstates, it is extremely important to be vigilant and slow down in construction zones. Many states have increased the fines for speeding in these construction zones, but that doesn’t seem to slow folks down or stop the carnage.
