Some states, including New Jersey, outlaw the use of cell phones while driving unless you use an earpiece. It only makes good sense not to drive while you have one hand on your cell phone. This is one way to cut down on the 45,000 car crash deaths each year. An Australian study from 2002-2004 found that drivers using cell phones are four times more likely to have a serious accident.
