A 19 year old Piedmont College student had chronic back pain. He went in for surgery to relieve the pain and wound up being paralyzed from the waist down because of medical malpractice. A jury in Georgia awarded $11,000,000 to the young man.

They found that the doctors were negligent in their treatment. For a full report on this verdict, see the article that appeared in the Atlanta Journal-Constitution. The student was represented by David Boone, a Georgia attorney and President-Elect of the Civil Justice Foundation.
